Pashupatinath Temple
Pashupatinath Temple is one of Nepal’s most sacred Hindu sites, dedicated to Lord Shiva and set on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River in Kathmandu. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the sprawling complex features gilded pagoda halls, intricate brasswork and numerous shrines dating centuries back. It’s a living religious hub where pilgrims perform rituals, priests chant mantras, and the city’s cremation ghats shadow the river at dusk. Non-Hindus can admire the exterior and the surrounding sacred atmosphere, while guided visits reveal temples, statues and centuries of spiritual tradition.
