Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque
Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque is Bandar Seri Begawan’s shimmering landmark, perched on a man-made lagoon with a gold-domed roof and towering minarets. Completed in 1958 in honor of Brunei’s 30th Sultan, it blends Islamic grandeur with Bruneian artistry, featuring white marble, intricate mosaics, and a splendid crystal chandelier visible from the water. Visitors can admire its exterior reflections at sunset, stroll the mosque complex, and glimpse the royal mausoleum nearby. By day, men and women should dress modestly, and non-Muslims are welcome outside prayer times, making it a must-see cultural and religious icon.
