About Antalya

Antalya is modern hotels, magnificent beaches and exciting sea voyages, nightlife of bars and discos. But relaxed beach holidays are not all that the main resort of Turkey is rich in. Antalya is more than 2 thousand years old. It has seen Hellenes, Romans, Byzantines, Alexander the Great, Seljuks and Ottomans. It has a lot to surprise.

The historical district of Kaleici, the romantic sea harbour, the majestic Hadrian’s Gate and Hydirlik Tower, which remember Roman emperors, minarets and mosques of the Ottoman times, give the city its unique look. Getting to know Antalya’s past, it is worth visiting the city’s archaeological museum. Many of its artefacts were found during excavations of ancient settlements – Perge, Aspendos, Termessos. Their ruins are located in the vicinity of Antalya.
