Dublin Castle is at the heart of the city's history and Trinity College houses the renowned Book of Kells, a beautifully illustrated manuscript from circa 800 AD. The Ha’penny Bridge is the city’s most photographed landmark and the statue of Molly Malone celebrates the heroine of Dublin’s unofficial anthem.

Dublin is home to many important literary figures including Oscar Wilde, William Yeats, Samuel Beckett and George Bernard Shaw. As the famous location of James Joyce’s “Ulysses”, the city offers tours tracing the protagonist’s footsteps.

As one of the youngest European cities, Dublin has vibrant nightlife with the popular Temple Bar area and plenty of bars and pubs, which invite you to stay out until the wee hours of the morning.

We love Indian food and were very impressed with the Spice India restaurant at 4/5 Stonybatter, which is a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Booking online or by telephone is often essential. Walsh's Pub - next to the restaurant - is a nice place for an aperitif before dining.

I would NEVER drive in Dublin - it was hard enough to walk (across the streets). You have to look everyway and it's a very busy city. One of the things wer really enjoyed was the Emmigration Museum (took the hop on/hop off to it). From there we were referred to a restaurant/pub close by called Harbormaster. It was by far, the best fish and chips meal we had in 5 weeks of travel.

I went up for concert in the 3Arens and visited the south side of city only. Not in the city centre. Was in Sandy Cove - lovely little village with shops and cafes. Beach tiny but you can swim and also have the 40ft swimming area.

Dublin is a great walkable city. Look for the hidden gems. Don’t just stick to the main roads you can get to your location by taking the “back road/alleys” just as easily and you can see so much more of the authentic Dublin.

The city has a unique and interesting vibe. Walking along the Grand Canal is perfect for photography enthusiasts. I highly recommend visiting the Botanical Garden for plant lovers, and taking the train to explore the coastal towns. Don't miss hiking around Howth — the views are stunning!

It was expensive considering it’s €17 Cab fare each way to the city. (Approximately 12-15 mins in car to city centre) very clean and comfortable though. Also cleaners were there dead on 11am and practically escorted us out the door, being in Ireland you would expect them to be a little friendlier, they barely said hi to us but walked out to lock the door after us, I found that strange for such a renowned friendly City such as Dublin.

Attentive staff, comfortable and spacious room, location convenient for events at AVIVA Stadium and also Dublin city centre. The hotel catered well to the event we attended with a late bar, late light bites food service, themed DJ playing that specific artists music to serve returning concert goers after getting back from the Stadium late at night. Really impressed, such a good vibe.

Over the years we’ve been to Dublin several times staying in hotels in city centre and The Gresham has been our best experience so far. Excellent location and the most serviceable staff, clean and comfortable room, checkout at 12 pm and they even asked us if we wanted to leave our bags while we were walking around town. Perfection.
