About Benidorm

This small resort town on the Costa Blanca is famous for its beaches and numerous skyscrapers. Eight of the twenty tallest buildings in Spain are located in Benidorm. Most of them are hotels, filled in season with holidaymakers. The two best beaches on the coast – Levante and Poniente – are girdled in a smooth arc. A popular place for strolling is the 6 kilometre long promenade. It is a colourful kaleidoscope of restaurants and entertainment venues.

Benidorm is famous for its new generation theme parks, where not only children, but also adults can easily lose the sense of time – Mundomar, Terra Nature, Terra Mitica. Along with modern high-rise buildings, the city has preserved old neighbourhoods, which have a special charm with low houses, narrow streets, churches, and the remains of watchtowers.

This white-washed building with blue domes looks very elegant among the low buildings of the Old Town. A Catholic active church. It was built in 1740-1780. It is located on Kanfali Hill, on the site of a ruined fort, commemorated by cannons and an anchor. The external appearance of the church is unpretentious and practically devoid of decorations. But the interior is characterised by luxurious decoration. The preserved ancient icons and frescoes are of interest.
