About Macau

Macau was a Portuguese colony for more than 400 years, only to be returned to China in 1999. The coastal region’s way of life and architecture has been influenced by this fact. To this day, European and Asian languages, religions and cultural traditions coexist in harmony. And the monuments of Christian culture neighbour ancient Chinese temples. The entire historical centre of Macau is a living testimony to the integration of East and West – on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Another feature of Macau is the presence of a large number of nightclubs, gambling houses, luxury casinos and ultramodern entertainment facilities. To date, the city has already taken the lead from the American Las Vegas, impressing its visitors with its Asian scale and dazzling luxury.
