The most interesting and beautiful tourist sites in Cannes

Photos, reviews, descriptions, and links to maps

About Cannes

Cannes is the jewel of the Côte d’Azur, where the rich and famous flock to. This city is primarily associated with luxury, big money, social parties, trips on luxury yachts and other attributes of a beautiful life. But back in the XIX century Cannes was a simple and unremarkable fishing village.

There is a tiny historical part of the city, limited to the neighbourhood of Le Suquet. However, even here there will be something to see for inquisitive tourists. For entertainment you should go to Antibes Street and Croisette. Gourmets should definitely go to one of the Michelin restaurants to join the cuisine “haute couture”. And for lovers of sea walks, you can go straight to the picturesque Lerins Islands.

Rue d'Antibes

0/5

The main avenue of Cannes, where tourists can find boutiques, restaurants and coffee shops. This place has long been favoured by representatives of European and American bohemians, and it is not uncommon to see world-famous stars here. Architecturally, Antibes is an ordinary street of the French city with stone facades, paved pavements and narrow carriageway.

Cannes Walk Of Fame

4.2/5
641 reviews
The alley is located near the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès. It is a part of the pavement, where slabs with the palm prints of famous people are embedded. It is not even immediately noticeable against the general background. In general, people do not show any “respect” for the stars: sellers put goods on the slabs, passers-by pass by every now and then, which makes some of the prints not in the best condition.

Everything seems to be sold here: vegetables, fruits, fish, meat, cheeses and herbs look like a picture that has just been painted. Bargaining is possible and necessary, but vendors often speak only French.

St. Michael the Archangel Church

4.3/5
113 reviews
Orthodox church built according to the project of French architect L. Nouveau at the end of the XIX century. The building is located on Boulevard Alexandre III. The church was built on the initiative of Russian immigrants, because for a long time in Cannes there was the only Orthodox parish in the villa of the Russian aristocrat A. F. Tripe (Skripitsyna), which could hardly accommodate all comers. The church was built in the Neo-Russian eclectic style.
