The receptionist were all very nice and helpful. We really enjoyed our massages at the spa. Breakfast being included was a real plus and as a vegan there was a variety of items to choose. Staff in the dining room were very helpful and polite. I was very happy to be able to upgrade my room to a suite which was larger then the room we had originally ordered.

Upon check in, I was asked if I preferred a high or low floor, and then the clerk went into detail about the room he would recommend and why. He also gave me a discount card and advised me to book directly with the hotel next time for a better price. They printed a ticket for me promptly and eagerly. It is right by the Nord train station and steps from the metro, which is what I was looking for on this particular night. Its sister Intercontinental is right next door and has a great bar with reasonable prices. 13 lei for nice draft beer.

FAQs about hotels in Bucharest

Where Modern Meets Old

A fascinating mix of old and new, Bucharest is one of those cities where you can find a futuristic structure of glass and steel next to an old church, separated by a Communist-style massive edifice. Not overwhelmed by its dark past, the city is now turning its optimistic face towards the West.

Undergoing constant modernization, the city continually changes and new modern structures pop up in the city center and beyond. Great examples are the stunning Basarab Bridge, Europe’s widest cable bridge, and the City Gate Towers.

While admiring the new, don’t miss out on the old classics, like the Parliament Palace, the world’s second largest building, with over 3100 rooms and impressive marble interiors covering 81.5 acres. Make sure you check out the view from Nicolae Ceauşescu's balcony!

To fully appreciate the city’s long history, from Vlad the Impaler (aka Dracula) to the ’89 revolution, the city offers free guided walking tours, giving you a great opportunity to discover all the city’s secrets. And spot all the best shopping venues!

Before you land at Bucharest Airport, just 11 miles from the city center, make sure you check what Booking.com has to offer: from hotels to apartments, just a few clicks away!

I like the architecture of the historical buildings, the ones that were maintained, and the coble stone streets in old town. It's a shame that the government does not have sufficient funding to maintain and refurbish both the historical and current buildings. If better urban planning practices were employed, Bucharest can be in the same class as cities like Paris and London.

We only went to Bucharest because we needed to get to our Croisi Cruise Black Sea to Budapest. Hadn't done any research but was pleasantly surprised to see the late 19th early 20th century buildings in old town. Took a few very infomative guided tours and learnt a lot about the city and its history

    Bucharest exceeded our expectations.

Bucharest exceeded our expectations. We hired some local guides and as a result learned a lot and found some wonderful places for outstanding traditional food at reasonable prices. We ate at the restaurant connected to La Boheme and also at restaurants where locals frequented, like nearby Haute Pepper.

Bucharest is a nice city, between MittleEuropa and the Balcans. The main boulevards are lined with a mix of turn of the century buildings and soviet style ones, sometimes clashing with each other. There are a lot of beautiful Orthodox churches, usually frescoed inside, with wonderful iconostasis.

Very easy to get around, as public transport charges are deducted directly from your card. Nearby, there's a Carrefour supermarket with its own restaurant, also offering takeaway options. For families with children, the parks are wonderful, featuring amazing playgrounds. The AFI Cotroceni mall is very large and close by, with an ice rink and play areas for kids. The open-air Village Museum ("Dimitrie Gusti" National Village Museum) is fantastic, showcasing traditional houses and folk architecture. The Natural History Museum is also worth visiting, along with many others—all with very reasonable or even low entrance fees.

It would have been nice if I could easily have found out the entertainment available in advance . I did find the Opera House and booked the ballet but later discovered the Odeon and other theatres. I found the taxi drivers cheated terribly. When asked to put on the metre they would fiddle with it and even put the final fare in before starting.I know I was badly overcharged.I then began using the Metro, found it cheap and easy and the people so helpful.

Very nice hotel. The room was very big and clean. The beds and the sofa were very comfortable. Always hot water. Quiet room. The hotel is 3km far from the city centre but its a nice walk and in half an hour you can reach the old town. Next to the hotel there are many coffee shops and restaurants (noodle bars etc) as well as a super market. The staff are very polite and very helpful. Our stay was very good.

The hotel is in the historic old town of the city, which makes it the perfect point for discovering Bucharest. The room was clean and quite big and comfortable. The bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, and there was a variety of foods available to choose from. I love to have a good breakfast with a good coffee, and I certainly got that chance in this hotel :)
