The location was VERY good. I went sightseeing and shopping to Asakusa, Tokyo Tower, Shibuya, Shinjuku and Ueno. No transfers and every place was very easy to get to. And the train station is right across the street from the hotel. A big plus. I did eat breakfast at the buffet but only once. It was nice to try once and I would only recommend it to big eater. The rooms were very clean and beds were comfortable.

I stayed in a standard room, which was compact but plenty of space for one person, and the view was spectacular. Solid breakfast buffet with lots of options in both Japanese and western style. Good location; not the most touristy area but a close walk to Ginza for fancy shopping and dining, and it's a few blocks from a train station so you can get all around town very easily.

room is small, but thats the identity of APA hotel, so no issues there. its very nice that the hotel lobby has irish-ish pub. perfect way to end a day with nice pint of beer. otherwise, it was okay overall. nothing exceptional but nothing especially bad in sense of the room. Cleaning staff needs to cut down on the fragrances though. I was not sure if thats to hide the smoking smell, or just out of kindness, but the strong fragrance smell made me just bit dizzy at first. but the room did come with air purifier, so i had it running strong for few minutes, and it was all good. regardless, the location is excellent and that value alone makes this hotel very strong choice.

Location is great for transit to/from Haneda--right around the corner from the KK line and one stop before Shinagawa en route to the airport, so it's not a crowded headache getting on or off. Very convenient to other public transportation lines for getting around the city easily. Onsen/spa is nice! Baggage storage was also quick and easy.

FAQs about hotels in Tokyo

See It to Believe It!

The capital of Japan, Tokyo is a vast, teeming metropolis nestled between mountains and Tokyo Bay. It’s so huge that you’ll have to come to grips with public transport and maybe even experience being pushed onto a train. Yes, it does actually happen!

Get your bearings by ascending the Tokyo World Trade Center near the waterfront, and savor the fantastic views taking in the red-and-white Tokyo Tower and Shinkuju’s skyscrapers. North is Ueno, home to the best museums (including the Tokyo National Museum) and a large park bursting with cherry blossom in spring.

Equally tranquil are the Chiyoda Imperial Palace and Gardens, surrounded by water. Also in gardens is the Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine in Shibuya, a youthful district where neon abounds.

For more traditional Japanese culture, head to Asakusa whose Sensō-ji Buddhist temple is Tokyo’s oldest temple. Outdoor markets sell a variety of wares, though shopping in Tokyo is, of course, fantastic wherever you go.

Whether you stay in a Japanese ryokan, luxury Tokyo hotel or a hostel, don’t fly out of Tokyo Narita Airport or Haneda Airport without having tried sushi. Another Japanese institution is the sento (public bath) and onsen (hot springs bath) – a must try. Also incredibly popular are Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, Asia’s 2 most visited theme parks.

    Shopping and ease of transportation.

Shopping and ease of transportation. Also the food is good everywhere you go. The Ramen and Gyoza shop was very good! We would stop at the many convenience stores and buy snacks and bentos for morning breakfast. My favorites foods are ramen, gyoza, curry, rice balls, karaage chicken, tonkatsu... food was not a problems for me because these restaurants are every where in Tokyo.

It seemed to be the biggest city I have ever been too.

It seemed to be the biggest city I have ever been too. I'd be lost on my own. The people are very polite and helpful. Such a different feel from Europe. Fashions and food are in great supply including cheap and expensive restaurants. Some great shopping to be had as well if that is your thing. We stayed in the Shinjuko area. There must be so much to see and do if you had the time. I loved their parks and gardens and the way they prune their trees. So different. The train stations are huge and difficult to navigate but when in doubt look for an official and ask questions. They will always help and guide you.

A decade back Tokyo was less crowded.

A decade back Tokyo was less crowded. All the touristy places within the city limits were accessible easily. I went to Tokyo several times 2012, 2016, 2019 and 2025. The 2025 trip left me with some feeling like "Do not want to go back to touristy places in Tokyo " specially Shibuya, Hachiko etc... First timers should still visit but its no more fun. However Tokyo is still shoppers paradise. Even Vintage stuff is quite affordable, specially bags and watches. I would suggest Tourists to spend more time in other cities than Tokyo and Osaka.

    Tokyo has something for everyone.

Tokyo has something for everyone. In addition to a wide variety of fantastic food options from street food to 5 star restaurants, Tokyo (and Japan, as a whole) seamlessly balances a profound cultural respect for nature and traditional places and practices with enthusiastic adoption of some of the most modern sights, experiences and amenities imaginable. Tokyo (and Japan, as a whole) also has the most comprehensive and user-friendly public transportation system of any of the many countries that we have visited.

I actually liked the location as it's well located by the metro station and it's midway between Shibuya/Shinjuku to the west and Asakusa to the north east. The area around the hotel is quiet and corporate but if you walk around you will discover a fair few bars/restaurants about 10 minutes away. Rooms were spotless and had a Japanese style bath and coffee capsules were provided everyday. The rooftop onsen was a welcome touch

My husband and I booked this hotel for our honeymoon. Location was excellent and very near to Nihonbashi metro station as well as Tokyo station, making it convenient to transport our luggages to take the Shinkansen and Narita express. There were a few convenience stores nearby thus is was easy buy foods/snacks for breakfast/supper. As a nice gesture, they even provided complimentary sparkling sake as we were on our honeymoon!

Excellent location: 4 metro stations to Tokyo Train Station, relatively close to Shibuya and Shinjuku. Very quiet but still central. Supermarket across the street. Japanese style room with marvellous view over the city and with a lot of space. Breakfast for a fee of 2300 Yen, worth the money. The hotel itself is relatively cheap in comparison with hotels in Shinjuku or Shibuya.
