The B&B HOTEL Lille Centre Grand Palais did exactly what we needed it to do. It gave us a room to sleep in which to sleep. It was not bad by any stretch of the imagination. It was in a quieter part of Lille as it was not in the downtown. An advantage of this is that it is pretty close to the autoroute and one can zip in and zip out.
The room was small. This was known in advance and more of a normal feature for most B&B hotels. It was very clean. Even though the room was small, we did not have any problems with our luggage.
A really nice advantage was that there were available electrical outlets near to where one could charge their stuff. Very handy!

if you do not mind the dirty room (no vacuuming of floor or dusting in 3 days), coffee corner was good with sink, the bed was comfortable and the location was perfect,

2 minutes from the Flanders Train Station, very close to The City Center, it was a good choice for our 2 days visit in Lille. Reception Girl was super nice and helpfull with all the info we asked. She stored our luggage, as ge got therebefore checkin time and got them to our room.
Room was clean, recently renovated (5th floor), with nice View and had the basics for a 2* Hotel - Heating, hairdrier, bosysoap, TV, even a little desk with a chair and a small closet. Bed was very comfortable with nice new linen. Very fast internet also.
Didn't try the breakfast which was 8€ per person.
I would definately stay again for a short stay in the area.

A few miles from the Belgian border, Lille displays Flemish influence in both architecture and cuisine. Its most famous square - Grand Place - is home to the beautiful Vielle Borse building, the Lille Christmas markets and several restaurants serving moules-frites and local beer.
Behind that is the Palais Rihour, a rather odd-looking building surrounded by cafes. In the opposite direction is another square with the opera house at the center and triangular-shaped buildings fanning off in 3 directions. One of these cobbled streets leads to the Old Town, where boutiques and international brands are in beautifully crafted shops.
Shopping in Lille is actually epic. It has Europe’s largest bookstore (the 8-floor Furet du Nord) and largest flea market - the Braderie de Lille. Then there is the bustling Wazemmes market and the huge Euralille shopping center. The town also has some fantastic chocolate shops.
Other attractions include the Musée des Beaux-Arts and the Citadelle – a 17th-century fortress surrounded by a free zoo and gardens.
Lesquin Airport is on the city’s outskirts, but most visitors arrive at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, named after Lille’s most famous son. If traveling to Lille by Eurostar, check out the mural of famous European landmarks before heading to your Booking.com hotel, B&B or apartment.
Lille is a charming city with a mix of old and new towns.
Lille is a charming city with a mix of old and new towns. There is a zoo, several museums and an excellent art gallery with some famous old masters. The food is superb, with lots of restaurants catering to all budgets and tastes. Seldom have we eaten so well. ...and as for the beer - so many excellent brews to choose from. We stayed 7 days and saw just about everything. But we went to the tourist information at the end of the 5th day and they confirmed that we had visited everything they could think of - so 5 days is probably enough to see everything. We visited the zoo twice - it is excellent and cheap, and different animals came out to play the second time.

Lille is a lovely place for a city break. Picturesque city, friendly, helpful locals, great range of shops and eateries. Interesting old part of the city for browsing and mooching round, modern shopping centre in the newer part open till late at night. flavour of Belgium as well as France as it's close to the border. Well worth a trip.

Lille is a big vibrant City. With the 2 Gares 1 being a Eurostar and the huge Westfield Shopping Centre between Gare LilleEurope and Gare Flanders it swarms with people. The architecture is magnificent. Teutonic in style. Dunkurque is close by train.

It is a beautiful city with so much culture and places to visit.
the French people of Lille were lovely and kind and helpful.
We took a one stop train journey from Lille Flandres train station to Roubaix to visit La Piscine Musee. It was a beautiful place, unusual and just fantastic, full of art, fashion and sculpture. A lovely cafe and outdoor space - it was just a joy.
The cobbled streets and patisseries and little shops in old Lille were great.
The buildings were amazing and so many different forms of architecture.
There were plenty of restarants and there were a couple of outstanding markets

Loved Vieux Lille, loved La musee des beaux arts, things were quite dead on a Sunday, food portions were enormous, though finding gluten free options was not that easy, no gf pasta, pizza or burgers, which are easily found in the uk

Centrally located with easy access to all the places to visit. The hotel is old and overlooks a beautiful main square, so once you've left your room, you're in the old part of Lille. The hotel has kept to the traditional art deco, and the reception area is lovely
The rooms are thoughtfully decorated with a boutique feel. The roof bar is a must, and the views are spectacular. The staff are pleasant and welcoming too. A lovely holiday and stay
Super friendly place in a building with soul and little winding corridors. The location in the old town is perfect, and the hotel feel with wooden doors and carpets in an old-town building is in sync with the old-town feel of Vieux Lille. The comfortable rooms had splendid beds and a sizeable bathtub (!) The included breakfast was generous, albeit rather carb-based.
Excellent location close to the city centre. Finding the hotel right after arriving to Lille by train was super easy.
The room was good as well with large comfy beds, large and clean bathroom and generally enough space for a family with a small child.
Room was very warm, bed very comfortable, I would recommend to anyone, i booked for my parents, they were completely impressed definitely 10/10 from their point of view. If you visit lille these hotel is best choice.
I had not realised how close the hotel was to both the centre of Lille and to both railway stations which made it the right choice for us in terms of travel.
