The location and the love and care for the place. It was small but everything you needed was there. Also two umbrellas, which we had to use one afternoon.

If you want to visit a city that has no lack of natural attractions like the canal or the botanical gardens, then Utrecht is a spot I can highly recommend. I stayed here for 8 days and honestly I did not want to return to my home country.
My favourite spots were defiantly the canal and Botanical Gardens because I have a massive love for anything nature based and these were two spots that spoke out to me a lot. There was also an Astrological museum my friend took me too close to Utrecht Vaartsche Rijn which was also on my list of favourites but I have forgotten the name of the museum unfortunately.
One of our meals out was at a lovely little Italian restaurant on the Utrecht Canal which served a very tasty Spaghetti Bolognese and the view made the food taste better.
Whether your walking or cycling, Utrecht is very easy to travel around, but make sure to always have a bottle of water at hand.

Utrecht is a charming and vibrant city with a perfect mix of history and modern life. Its canals, historic buildings, and cozy cafes create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The city feels lively but not overwhelming, and it’s easy to explore on foot or by bike. A perfect destination for a relaxed yet inspiring getaway.

The most important thing about Utrecht is the general atmosphere of the city. There are no attractive museums or special attractions. The city is probably best known for the former warehouses along the canals, which have now been repurposed as restaurants.

Book ahead for the DOM attractions as it cn be very busy. The DOM Tower has 465 steps, up spiral stairs with very few handrails.
A good variety of places to visit, with tours in excellent English.
Canal trip is a great way to see the town.
Watch out for the bikes! Lovely to have so few cars though. Very walkable. Nowhere is far away.
Beautiful flower market on Saturday mornings.
Friendly locals.

Very friendly locals, very clean city.
The Domtoren is well worth a visit, although 450 steps up is a challenge.

Utrecht is a medium-size city well located in the center of Holland. It has a very modern, clean railroad station and the Dutch train system is very efficient, reliable and reasonably priced. Our apartment is near the historical center, where most everyone uses a bicycle and cars are restricted, making walking through the charming neighborhoods a real pleasure. The DeHaar Castle and grounds, about 20 minutes by car west of the city, reminided us of the beautiful Loire Valley chateaux in France - a very pleasant day trip.

The staff is helpful, friendly, always smiling. The hotel is perfect in the mall and the city centre, convenient to go for shopping or exploring the city. The train station is next to the mall, easy to plan trips and catch the train. The breakfast is perfect, abundant and fresh. Their blueberry waffel is absolutely great, we are fond of it. There are vegan options to be choose from, fresh fruits and vegetables.
This is a lovely small hotel by the canal, right on the edge of Utrecht city centre, a lovely area in its own right and a 15 to 20 minute walk to the heart of the city. Check-in window may be limited but staff are very accommodating when it comes to leaving luggage and clear instructions are given for obtaining your key. Breakfast was lovely! Overall really good value.
The hotel is in an excellent location in the centre of town, close to restaurants and only a short walk from Centraal Station. Room was compact but very comfortable bed and large shower. The rooms were also extremely quiet - no noise from outside the room at all.
I loved my stay at the NH Utrecht, both at the hotel close to the railways station and at the branch in the old city centre. Both are in great locations and I loved that there is a coffee machine and kettle in the rooms, and the fridge too! I will be back!
Location is ideal in city centre, walking distance from train station, restaurants and shops. The room was simple but comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We did not have breakfast at the hotel.
