Valencia is a beautiful city, less crowded than Seville or Barcelona, with a wonderful Spanish atmosphere and laid back approach. It has amazing historic sites, including the Lonja de la Seda and cathedral, the fabulous Mercado Central, beautiful churches, numerous museums, and attractive plazas with fountains and palm trees. There is a vast selection of restaurants, bars and cafes with food to suit all tastes. On the site of the dried river bed are the Jardines del Turia, a beautiful park which runs through the centre of the city, perfect for walking, cycling, and keeping fit. A bus ride away are glorious beaches with golden sand, and the spectacularly modern architecture of the Ciudad de las Artes y Ciencias. Valencia is a beautiful city, everywhere you look there was something to see. Lots of eating establishments everywhere. Public traffic not very efficient or clear. Hardly anybody spoke English like in other cities in Spain. Go see the city before all the tourists hit it in the Summer. Would recommend to Check times in advance for dolphin shows which we missed due to lack of time, Lots of walking wear sensible shoes, We ate twice at a restaurant at placa redona which was excellent. The apartment had its own entrance separate from the hotel and was quiet altogether. There was a lift which was great use. The apartment was spacious for 3 adults with great utilities: fridge freezer, washing machine-dryer, and coffee machine we used. There was also a dishwasher. Plus TV The location really made it for us- also close to a local food shop, the bus and tram stops, and restaurants along the beach.
