FAQs about hotels in Manila

The City of Our Affections

With a rich mix of influences from Indian, Chinese, Spanish and American cultures, Manila is the vibrant capital of the Philippines and its cultural and economic center. Thanks to the trade with Latin America during the three centuries of Spanish colonization, Manila became an important city, known as the "Pearl of the Orient."

Don’t miss a visit to the Spanish remains in the Intramuros district. Important landmarks in the area are the Malacañan Palace, the City Hall, and the Manila Cathedral.

Rizal Park is a national icon, while the Baywalk promenade is great for enjoying the well-known city sunsets. Ermita and Malate districts are famous for the nightlife, trendy shopping and restaurants, as well as for some luxury Manila hotels. Between the promenade and the districts, its easy to see why Filipinos call Manila “The City of Our Affections,” where the people's love affairs with fashion, music, entertainment and sheer fun are on bright and beautiful display.

Divisoria is a traditional district for local shopping, bargains and typical food. Binondo is the oldest Chinatown in the world.

For hotels in Manila near the airport, Ninoy Aquino International Airport is not far from Makati City.

Manila is a great city to visit.

Manila is a great city to visit. Friendly people and great food. Be ready though for tropical weather. That heat and humidity can be quite oppressive. And allow a lot of time for traffic. Being stuck in traffic is par for the course in Manila.

Though i traveled for work, Manila is beautiful, went to Jose Rizal Park, where Jose Rizal was executed, went to Intramuros, meaning "within the walls" in Latin, a historic walled district in the heart of Manila, Philippines. The oldest district of Manila and served as the political, religious, military, and economic center of the Spanish East Indies for over 300 years, from its founding in 1571 until the end of Spanish rule in 1898, a must visit place in Manila

Things will make it easier for you to move around and Manila...

Things will make it easier for you to move around and Manila unless you rent a car you’ll need to get the GRAP app because there are so many taxis moving around the city you’ll have no issues getting a taxi right away and it’s very inexpensive. Get a local SIM card for better coverage much better that way even though some providers from United States or other countries provide a service for international traveling. It’s better to get a local sim. Traffic can be a headache sometimes it’ll take a little longer for you to get around, but you’re not gonna hurt your wallet very much. Everything is very reasonable as far as transportation goes.

    P. Burgos Street - you have to visit there.

    P. Burgos Street - you have to visit there. We actually stayed at the Royal Bellagio hotel for 2 nights @ $84 AUD in total. So much to see and experience. Heaps of great restaurants especially if you are a bit over the "sweet cuisine" of the Philippines. Be careful when you hire a driver for the day that they discuss with you ALL costs. We got hit with parking and tolls over and above the agreed amount and then asked for another 5000 pesos to take us to a volcano that the driver stated he was taking us to. We lost about 4 hours of our last day of sightseeing due to this - so stipulate with your driver where you are going what things will cost, are their any other fees, time to complete the activities and write it down. We never felt unsafe but there are a few shady characters getting about in the night time - other than that it was a great experience and we wished we had a bit more time as the traffic can be horrendous and delay your arrival to certain places of attraction.

We visited here for my wifes brother's birthday.

We visited here for my wifes brother's birthday. The streets around Manila are terrible. very dirty and full of obstructions. One of the positives was Robinsons Plaza which is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. It is huge and very clean. Lots of great shops and restaurants. Out favourites were TGI Fridays - hot food, cold beer and great staff. Another was Cabalen - an all you can eat buffet - midweek equivalent of $15 per head or $17 on weekends.

Lovely hotel with beautiful interior that narrates loval history and friendly staff, always on top of everything and super proactive. The room facilities are quite basic but there really isn't anything more thats needed in any way! The location is great - easy to get to the airport (considering Metro Manila traffic), close to bars and restaurants, as well as many malls and offices. Safe area. Amazing value for money.

The room had everything we needed. If you want to experience being right in the middle of Manila, this place is for you. No tourists around, though there were many at the hotel itself. The room had enough space for us as a couple, with a convenient little kitchenette. The shuttle to the airport in the morning was very convenient as well.

Located in Makati, Manila, this place is easy to get to via taxi from the airport as well as to places for food and shopping. There's quite a few shops around the area that are not long to get to such as Starbucks, Chowking etc. It's quite a modern looking hotel with two entrances and an exceptional looking aesthetic.
