This is a great city to visit with lots to see and do.
This is a great city to visit with lots to see and do. It has very much changed from the past and is now a place that should be added to your "must visit" list.
Amongst the quirks we tried was the Belfast Beer Bike where up to 15 people pedal around the city while enjoying a beer or other beverage. Visiting the areas of the former troubles show how things have changed and this I believe is now one of the safest cities in Europe.

I am an 1st generation Irish immigrant's daughter.
I am an 1st generation Irish immigrant's daughter. I am also half English and half Irish and was raised during the Troubles, I saw both sides of it. I admit I was nervous to go. What happened?
A almighty party that's what! I have never heard "Come in and be welcomed!" so many times! The people? Where do I start? Friendly, incredible gentle. welcoming.... and that's the more reserved ones! Such wonderful people! DON'T go to Zizi in Victoria Square, it's not a good experience, but everywhere else, yes!
DO get lost, explore! Walk to waterfront, make friends and remember
No one does shenanigans like Belfast!!!
Oh, and don't forget to give Nula with the Hula (or the Thing with the Ring) my love!

The people! Everyone is lovely.
The people! Everyone is lovely. The hop on hop off bus wasn’t great, they didn’t talk much at all about the political side, and didn’t take time to slow down or stop to describe murals etc. did a taxi tour, the political tour, and it was mind blowing. More expensive than the bus but so worth it. Paul was incredible. Uber services are amazing and even there drivers talked about Belfast openly and were so informative. Harlem for lunch was fab, the dirty onion pub was amazing with live music, the jailhouse bar was good too

Belfast is very run down and very boring.
Belfast is very run down and very boring. There's very little to see and nothing to do. I wouldn't return.
Down and outs everywhere, drunks hanging around everywhere. There's plenty of bars on an evening but no cafés or bistro. Very disappointed.

Loved it, so much history, brilliant architecture and easy to walk around the city to see all the sites. From the fantastic Titanic Museum, the Crumlin Road Gaol and Ulster Museum to the live music and Irish dancing in the bars. Thoroughly enjoyable bank holiday weekend.

Arrived early to drop off our bags but Martin at reception was brilliant and able to check us in early. That's where our amazing stay started. The room was really comfortable, no frills but perfect nonetheless and exceptionally clean. It's a busy hotel right next to the city centre which is a fair walk so be prepared. Next morning's breakfast is easily one of the best we've had at a hotel. Highly recommended.
Staff fabulous, they are so welcoming and knowledgeable about the area, they were friendly and helpful, a great team of people! Hotel perfect and is right in the city centre so a perfect base, very clean, bright and comfortable, can not fault this hotel and would happily stay here again 😊
Location just about 10 minutes from city centre in a taxi about 40 minute walk through dodgy back streets though. Clean hotel staff very friendly and hospitality was very good def recommend if going as a couple but sure taxi only cost 7 pounds too city centre so cheap enough.
Easy to check in, the staff were friendly and helpful, lovely comfortable room, very nice breakfast and dinner menu, it is in a great location, a short 15 minute walk to city centre. I would stay at the 1852 Hotel again.
