Zaragoza is an underrated destination in Spain. The city is full of wonderful buildings and sights. Lots of life, and everywhere you find the famous tapas. Cost of living much lower than cities like Valencia and Barcelona. The population is kind and helpful. The downside: an unpleasantly strong wind is blowing most days. According to inhabitants the winters can be very cold.

Safe, compact, clean and interesting city.
Safe, compact, clean and interesting city. Recommend to spend a minimum of two days there to fully take advantage of the beautiful architecture and city attractions. The Basilica is immense and truly impressive and free of charge. The city offers a nice variety of bars and dining options, and we found it quite affordable.

The old centre of the town is beautiful.
The old centre of the town is beautiful. Both cathedrals are astonishing. Also, there is such a variety of food you can find in town. I am quite picky about coffee and managed to find some nice spots with specialty coffee.

This is a really lovely city with plenty to do and see. We stayed in the city centre and the hotel had access to a reasonable priced car park which made it a lot easier.
Short walks to most of the sites and whilst busy you were never crowded.

Zaragoza is a little gem on the NE coast of Spain.
Zaragoza is a little gem on the NE coast of Spain. It is well worth a visit for no more than 3 full days. A great weekend escape.
It is not touristy therefore you feel part of the Spanish culture.
There are Palaces, an aquarium, Religious buildings. Goya museum. Beautiful Plaza's to roam. A good shopping area with bespoke shops. There are many good tapas bars.. The city feels warm and friendly, people make an effort with tourists.
Go further a field with a guide for an Olive Grove tour and taste supreme Olive Oil and eat olives whilst touring the mill and production site. Then onto Belchite an ancient town and ruins.
The tourism in Zaragoza is growing therefore , entrance fees are cheap except perhaps the Aquarium. Tapas, coffees, and restaurants offer decent food and service but are very reasonable unlike other tourist destinations in Spain and across Europe. Go try and enjoy.

The property was amazing, kept the real Spanish original feel, large garden and the dinning room and kitchen for breakfast was perfect. We felt this was a real find for our family, Cynthia who greeted us and looked after us was amazing and made my 8 year old girl stay absolutely fabulous. The food and drink was some of the best we have had in our 5 week stay in Spain this summer. It was our last night in Spain and didn’t expect to have such a loverly stay.
The location was excellent; the room sizeable, comfortable and clean; breakfast was good (although the coffee machine was temperamental at times); and the reception staff were generally very helpful. Zaragoza is a lovely place to visit for 3-5 days and Hotel Alfonso makes an excellent base.
