Hotel Palace Verona – We stayed for 5 nights and traveled locally each day for day trips nearby. Our favorite was Lake Garda…this very large lake had enough gone on for us to visit there multiple times. We took the train to Venice for one day and, although we had been there on a prior trip, we wished we had more time to spend there. It is always a fun place to spend at least one day.
Just 150 yards from Verona Arena, the Colomba d'Oro is in a restored medieval convent in the historic center. This elegant hotel offers air-conditioned rooms with an LCD satellite TV.

Having an SUV, I wanted to avoid driving in the Verona city center. The BW was a find. We got two rooms with breakfast for the family. We had free parking. There was a bus stop across the street that took us into town.
We walked to a wonderful dinner from the hotel. There are several nearby options. The staff was very helpful.
Breakfast exceeded expectations. There was a delightful selection of pastries, fruit, jams, a tub of nuttella with a pump that made me fall in love again! There were also a few hot items. The wonderful staff helped us with the fancy Nespresso machine. It was great.
It was also cool to take a short drive to their local Eataly.
One more time I'll mention that the staff was friendly and helpful. Wonderful stay.

A darling of Shakespeare, beautiful Verona is the literary home of Romeo and Juliet. The medieval families of Montague and Capulet immortalized in the tragic play did actually exist and some buildings relating to the Montagues are still present.
Sorry to disappoint, but the place purporting to have been Juliet's house in Verona was not actually where she lived. However, it’s still worth suspending reality for a while and stepping out onto the balcony to see if Romeo turns up.
Another of the must-see Verona sights is the Arena, a largely intact Roman amphitheater which is now the spectacular setting for outdoor summer operas. Smaller Roman relics include the stone bridge that crosses the river by the Roman theater whose remains are partly beneath a house.
The city’s narrow streets house many cafes and restaurants which have cheaper fare than the touristy ones by the Arena, although admittedly the views are less impressive. Life in Verona is laid back and elegant, so expect to see some well-heeled Italians on a post-dinner passeggiata.
Verona Airport is a little out of town, so you’ll need to take a bus to get to your Verona hotel, apartment or B&B. Book with Booking.com for the best choice.

Outstandingly beautiful compact city, historically rich, with easy , generally flat, access to most areas. Sadly our holiday did not allow us to see an opera in the Roman arena. Within easy access by public transport for Lake Garda, Padua, and Mantua.

Verona is a very old city with plenty of ruins and old world architectural delights. You can walk the city in a few hours and then sit and enjoy being there for the rest of your time. We didn't stay long enough to enjoy the night life but we sincerely enjoyed our day.

I had a fantastic 4-day stay in Verona and absolutely loved the city! The Verona Card was extremely useful and made visiting the historic sites much easier. We also took a sightseeing bus tour, which was especially helpful when the temperatures rose and walking became less enjoyable. To avoid tourist traps and make the most of our visit, we followed the tips and recommendations from our host, which really improved our experience.

This is a great choice for people who would like to see Verona, but prefer staying overnight on the outskirts of the city. The Euromotel is around 15-20 minutes by bus till the city centre and has it's own parking.
Close to the hotel is a supermarket and bus stop.
The bus tickets you can buy at reception as well.
The breakfast is very good, though I didn't like the coffee, it might be more delicious (you're in Italy). :)
This is a relatively comfortable apartment residence a little outside central Verona . The apartment was spacious and reasonably equipped , quiet and clean . Note this is another ‘no contact’ place , entry is by sent codes - there are 3 to get into your room - and the host responds in Italian to any requests ; which is ok (it is Italy after all) , yet can be a little difficult if you don’t speak Italian.
Loved my stay so much. It felt like it was a 5 star room (actually, suite) at a 5 star hotel. Blown away by the beautiful room, bathroom, the hosts kindness & help and the location. It’s my favourite street in Verona. Highly highly recommend!!
Equivalent of an airport hotel right at the train station in Verona. Clean, quiet and comfortable with friendly staff! Regular buses into town, also after the opera.
