Of course everyone wants to move on to Samarkand and Bukhara, but spending time in Tashkent helps one to understand the culture and history of the area. The museums are interesting and walking around the city is enjoyable. Tashkent is a very interesting, clean, well-planned city, with lots of pleasant green spaces and many fountains. The modern architecture is innovative and the high-rise buildings are not oppressive because they are spaced out, with wide roads and green spaces in between. Beautiful city with variety to see from historical places to modern parts of the city. Wide roads and plenty of parks and entertainment. Very easy to travel in Tashkent . The metro service is excellent; easy to use with beautiful architectures in most metros, above all very cheap. Plenty of buses too and taxis are very affordable. Highly recommended to visit Tashkent.
