FAQs about hotels in Osaka

A Stronghold of Japanese Culture

At the meeting point of river and sea, huge Osaka combines forward-thinking development and sure-footed tradition. This is symbolised in its temple-like, 16th century castle, guarded by ramparts and enlivened by vibrant spring cherry blossom. Dominating the surrounding skyline is Osaka Business Park, a reminder of the city’s strong role in the Japanese economy.

However, the most striking skyscraper is the Umeda Sky Building - 2 towers connected by a rooftop terrace offering far-reaching views. The nearby Osaka and Umeda train stations are linked by underground shopping centres, while the shops of Shinsaibashi’s America Village appeal to a younger crowd. Dōtonbori’s neon lights promote more shops, as well as restaurants considered the best in Osaka. In a city touted as Japan’s culinary capital, that’s quite an accolade.

The Tsūtenkaku tower overlooks Tennōji Park, home of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Art. Another nearby park houses Shitennō-ji, one of Japan’s oldest Buddhist temples.

The Kyocera Dome Osaka is a shrine of baseball, and more thrills are at waterfront Universal Studios Japan, the country’s 2nd largest theme park. Also by the sea is Kansai International Airport, on its own artificial island.

The capsule hotel was invented in Osaka, and alongside this type of accommodation, Booking.com also offers luxury hotels with pools, cheap hostels and traditional ryokans.

I loved walking around the streets looking up and finding stairs leading to Shrines and Temples hidden away. Night time is the best time to visit the market streets for the vibe but it does get busy. We would chill out some days at Starbucks and people watch. Don Quijote is not always the best place to shop, some of the little family owned stores with 3 generation of family are the best to shop at. We ate at the 711 and Lawson shops after busy days and the markets the rest of the time.

The transport links are excellent for getting around Osaka and other places in the area. Not enough time to visit everywhere. Plenty of places to eat and try the local cuisine and get value for money as well. Going around is very safe and everyone is friendly and helpful. The fact that all the signs are in English, makes navigating your way around much easier. Especially since everywhere is so busy.

The main reason I traveled to Osaka was for the Universal Studios. It was absolutely amazing, both adults and children can enjoy Universal although I recommend that you purchase the Express Pass as the lines can be quite long (some exceeded 100mins). I'm not usually a person that does theme parks multiple times as there are so many to explore but I would 100% come back to Universal Studios and repurchase the Express Pass.

    1) Great food with many options of restaurant and street foods. 2) The tourist places were very attractive and adventurous. We used Osaka Amazing pass to travel which was very affordable and very useful. 3) Dotonbori district is a nice place to chill and enjoy in the evening.

You can go to Kyoto and Nara, and many other places from Osaka within a day by train or bus. You can use Osaka as a home base for your travel in central or western Japan, so you don't have to carry your luggage every day. Osaka itself is a good place to travel to for shopping and seeing historical sites.

The hotel is very close to the action of Namba, as well as Denden Town. There are lots of trendy small businesses under the train tracks which we could take advantage of. Also, king beds are pretty rare at Japanese hotels, so we liked that. There is a rooftop which is open to guests, and they have a bar open throughout the day; we didn't go when the bar was open, so not sure of the prices or anything, but the view from the rooftop was nice. Only 2 pillows were provided, but when I asked for more, they were provided by the hotel staff.

One of the best and most unique hotels we have stayed at. It literally has everything you need and more - free toiletries, free soft drinks and popcorn, massage chairs, darts, even karaoke rooms! Our room was very spacious and had a great bathtub with a TV next to it. Impressive hotel and a must visit place if you are in Osaka. Dotonbori str. is close by, as is Namba station.

Location is good as it is right next to Osaka station, however it is quite far from most of the tourist attractions such as Namba and Osaka castle etc. Loved having a big tv with YouTube. But the casting option for the tv didnt seem to work at all. It was also I nice luxury having a big bath compared to other Japanese hotels.

One of our favourite hotels that we stayed at from our Japan trip. Definitely value for money, the hotel facilities were great and the room was very spacious and comfortable. The staff were helpful to us. Only a 10 or so minute walk to Dotonbori and a 5 minute walk to Namba station. We loved it here!

Modern Hotel in the heart of Osaka, perfect location next to the main shopping street in the touristy area of Dotonbori. It was quite clean but maybe a tad less than the rest of Hotels we stayed in other cities in Japan. They offer free coffee.
