FAQs about hotels in Boston

Where Everybody Knows Your Name

One of the oldest and most historic US cities, Boston is known as "America’s Walking City". In its heart, next to 18th-century Faneuil Hall, is Quince Market - a food haven. In the nearby seaport, you can take a whale-watching trip or dine at one of the many restaurants serving a Boston specialty: lobster with melted butter.

The streets south of the peaceful Charles River in Back Bay are lined with Victorian brownstone houses. At the downtown end of one – Beacon Street – is the Cheers bar, modeled on the 80's sitcom. Opposite is Boston Common, a large park with a bronze sculpture celebrating the book "Make Way for Ducklings". The golden dome of the House of Representatives is by the other end.

The oldest part is Charlestown and streets around the Bunker Hill obelisk still feature old-style gas lamps, though now they are electric. Over in Cambridge, Harvard is the USA’s oldest and most prestigious university. The campus is open to the public, as is Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), whose central point is an emblematic, Pantheon-like building.

Sport in Boston is also a big thing, with the Celtics and Red Sox among the city’s big name teams.

The largest New England city, Boston has the perfect size for walking and cycling. Logan International Airport is connected by public transport to Boston hotels, motels, apartments and B&Bs.

What Guests Said About Boston:

Boston seemed to be a clean, well-tended city.

Boston seemed to be a clean, well-tended city. The Paul Revere House was worth the visit, as were the Museum of Fine Arts and Harvard University, where we also visited the Art Museum. Newbury Street in the Back Bay area is great for shopping. In terms of restaurants, I would recommend Row 34 for fish, including great oysters, crab and lobster, and Yankee Lobster for a great lobster roll.

Boston is my all time favorite city!

Boston is my all time favorite city! From the history to the sports and everything in between. With walking and the T, you can navigate it easily. The North End is my favorite section and is a must every time I go. Make sure to spend some quiet time at Paul Revere Mall, see the Old North Church, get a lemon square at Bova's bakery, and a lemon ice at Polcari's during the summer months. Take your time and enjoy everything the city has to offer. It keeps bringing me back time and time again!

I finally got on a Swan Boat, which was a fun short trip around a pond in the Boston Commons. Visit that park! Also the Granary Cemetery is fascinating, get a tour guide for that - unless you're married to a Boston native as I am.

Came for Boston marathon. Enjoyed the buzz in the city, seeing the marathon preparations, the tourist attractions, the running pop ups, the friendliness of the place, the hotel I stayed in (Seaport Hotel), the city itself.

Incredible city with many attractions and history. Freedom trail is highly recommended, very good opportunity to walk the full trail and at the same time review the important historic sites. The market at the Faneuil park is a good spot to enjoy local food. The Harbord also offer incredible experience. Etc Etc Visiting Harvard and MIT universities are also important spots to visit. MFA also is very important museum, it is necessary to reserve half a day for this visit.

Staying downtown near Fanueil Hall made it easy for me to walk around downtown and get a feel for what Boston is all about. It also allowed me to buy very fresh produce at the market right behind the Bostonian where I stayed. Prices were half of what supermarkets are charging.

I booked this hotel for my daughter, a university student, when she came to Boston for her Thanksgiving break at university. She told me that the citizenM Boston Back Bay hotel is the best hotel she has ever stayed in (and we have stayed in many hotels in different countries). Staying at this hotel made my daughter's visit in Boston unforgettable. When I arrive in Boston, I will definitely stay at CitizenM Boston Back Bay.
