Hotel Palace Verona – We stayed for 5 nights and traveled locally each day for day trips nearby. Our favorite was Lake Garda…this very large lake had enough gone on for us to visit there multiple times. We took the train to Venice for one day and, although we had been there on a prior trip, we wished we had more time to spend there. It is always a fun place to spend at least one day.
Just 150 yards from Verona Arena, the Colomba d'Oro is in a restored medieval convent in the historic center. This elegant hotel offers air-conditioned rooms with an LCD satellite TV.

Having an SUV, I wanted to avoid driving in the Verona city center. The BW was a find. We got two rooms with breakfast for the family. We had free parking. There was a bus stop across the street that took us into town.
We walked to a wonderful dinner from the hotel. There are several nearby options. The staff was very helpful.
Breakfast exceeded expectations. There was a delightful selection of pastries, fruit, jams, a tub of nuttella with a pump that made me fall in love again! There were also a few hot items. The wonderful staff helped us with the fancy Nespresso machine. It was great.
It was also cool to take a short drive to their local Eataly.
One more time I'll mention that the staff was friendly and helpful. Wonderful stay.

A darling of Shakespeare, beautiful Verona is the literary home of Romeo and Juliet. The medieval families of Montague and Capulet immortalized in the tragic play did actually exist and some buildings relating to the Montagues are still present.
Sorry to disappoint, but the place purporting to have been Juliet's house in Verona was not actually where she lived. However, it’s still worth suspending reality for a while and stepping out onto the balcony to see if Romeo turns up.
Another of the must-see Verona sights is the Arena, a largely intact Roman amphitheater which is now the spectacular setting for outdoor summer operas. Smaller Roman relics include the stone bridge that crosses the river by the Roman theater whose remains are partly beneath a house.
The city’s narrow streets house many cafes and restaurants which have cheaper fare than the touristy ones by the Arena, although admittedly the views are less impressive. Life in Verona is laid back and elegant, so expect to see some well-heeled Italians on a post-dinner passeggiata.
Verona Airport is a little out of town, so you’ll need to take a bus to get to your Verona hotel, apartment or B&B. Book with Booking.com for the best choice.

A small but sophisticated city with lots of art, culture and history, much in walking distance and regular hop on hop off bus routes. High end shops, great gelaterie, huge choice of cafes and restaurants. Palazzo Maffei art gallery highly rated. The arena is much renovated so not a great feeling of history, Good archaeological museum next to the Roman theatre and worth going up the bell tower in Piazza d'Erbe for views over teh city. Duomo complex very much worth the visit, 4 churches built over or adjacent to each other over the centuries.

A very pretty city that was our base for trips to Garda and Venice during our stay. We liked it the most because of the smaller number of tourists, fantastic food, architecture. We will definitely return to this city!

Outstandingly beautiful compact city, historically rich, with easy , generally flat, access to most areas. Sadly our holiday did not allow us to see an opera in the Roman arena. Within easy access by public transport for Lake Garda, Padua, and Mantua.

We had been staying in the Dolomites for a week and then just finished our Italian trip staying just 3 days in Verona so that we could go to see the Opera Rigoletto in the open air Roman Arena. The boutique hotel was really lovely with stylish furnishings. The bathroom was modern and fully fitted out. We had breakfast that included really delicious pastries made on the premises by a very pleasant lady who also served us our breakfast.
Everything about this apartment is exceptional! The location could not have been better! The apartment itself was beautiful, spacious and very clean. Our amazing host Elisa made everything so easy! The apartment is definitely the standard of a 5 star hotel. We were so happy we chose to stay here and have recommended it to all our friends that are planning a visit to Verona.
The room was spectacular and immaculately kept. Our host, Elisa, was attentive and extremely nice and helpful.
The whole experience exceeded our expectations. We live in Florence and have travelled all over Italy. Verona and this hotel have been our favourite so far.
Fantastic location for exploring Verona. We had a beautiful room. Great breakfast with plenty of choice.
Cleanliness was second to none.
The staff were brilliant.
Francesco the barman made great cocktails and was a lovely guy. A credit to the Hotel Accademia.
Location was perfection if you need to travel to train station to either travel out of Verona or to go to airport.
Hotel even sells bus ticket to airport
Breakfast was good with a good range of choice.
