FAQs about hotels in Philadelphia

Friendly City of the Founding Fathers

The birthplace of American independence, Philadelphia was founded in 1682 by William Penn. The name of the city translates to City of Brotherly Love and the city itself is a vibrant mix of history, art and culture.

Philly is famed for its public art with more sculptures and murals than any other city in the USA. Seeing the best graffiti and statues won’t break the bank balance, since you can find many free tours and admire them absolutely free of charge!

It’s also home to many national historical sites with the Independence National Historical Park as a starting point and center for all the major landmarks, including Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed and the Liberty Bell is located, the symbol of the American Revolution.

Visit the world’s largest urban landscaped park, Fairmount Park, with over 17 square miles of green area. There are plenty of paths and hiking trails and after that, enjoy a local cheesesteak sandwich, soft pretzel or some Tastykake snacks.

Arriving at Philadelphia International Airport, you’re just a 20-minute ride from downtown. Booking.com has a variety of hotels in downtown Philly, near the airport or for the sports enthusiasts, near the Wells Fargo Center.

    They charge you for parking!!

They charge you for parking!! The guy working front desk was a new hire very confused. My daughter has to help him checking in people speaking Spanish. I paid for 2 queen and was given two double beds. Was charged for the change which was his mistake, because he didn’t know what he was doing. Bottom like was charged for changing rooms which was his mistake and charged for parking!!

We think Philadelphia is a gt place to visit for history and art in particular. The visitor centre is well organised with maps and info for tourists. The public transport was easy to use and well priced.

Philadelphia is an outstanding city for arts, culture, and history. Philadelphia motorists can be rude. Casual dining spots: Campo's for cheesesteaks. Fine dining: Victor Cafe- Italian fare and live music. Pizza: Old City Pizza. Getting around Philadelphia is easy, once you get used to drining on one-way narrow streets. We're a senior couple, so we liked historical stuff. Also the Franklin Institute, a science museum, and Barnes Foundation art collection spotlighting Renoir and Cezanne.

    Location was great.

Location was great. We rode the train in, 5 minute Uber ride from the station. Went to a concert at Lincoln Financial Field and it was about a 10 minute ride there - super convenient. Walkable (10-15 minutes) to Rittenhouse Square.

The area in which we were visiting was very clean.

The area in which we were visiting was very clean. No cigarette butts littered the ground - those who smoked made sure to leave the area spotless. The weather was beautiful, so many were out and about, and all were polite. Wish we could have stayed longer, especially to visit the historic sites - but we went to a concert...

I love the people of Philadelphia.

I love the people of Philadelphia. It is surely a city of brotherly love. When I caught the train from the airport, there was a local ambassador who helped me decided my destination. A local citizen helped me complete my ticket transaction. The train conductor came off the train to see if I needed assistance. I had pleasant experiences with the local people throughout my stay.

The hotel was in an excellent location and it was easy to get out and about in downtown Philadelphia. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was a very large queen size room and was well equipped. A plentiful breakfast was served every morning over quite a few hours and there was plenty of space to sit down. I will definitely return to stay here in the future.
