FAQs about hotels in Málaga

he Colorful Soul of the Costa del Sol

The birthplace of Picasso is as colorful as an artist’s palette, from the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea to the golden sun, which gives 300 days of sunshine per year. When the sun sets, the vibrant nightlife awakens and you’ll find your place among the youthful square of the old center, the trendy bars of La Malagueta or on one of the terraces of Pedregalejo.

There’'s also rich history underneath the sun and fun. Alcazaba is a Moorish castle from the 11th century and just next to it are the remnants of a Roman Theatre. The white stone tower of the Malaga Cathedral rises up in the heart of the city centre, and offers an interesting respite from sun bathing on the magnificent and popular beaches.

A more modern history can be appreciated by visiting the birthplace of Picasso and a museum full of exhibitions by Malaga 's most famous resident. A more relaxed Spanish city than Madrid and Barcelona, Malaga is still the gateway to the Costa del Sol and the busy Malaga Airport is only 6 miles from the center of town.

From budget hostels to 5-star luxury hotels, with Booking.com you're sure to find the perfect place to stay for your sunny vacation.

I’ve visited many cities in Spain, and unfortunately, Málaga was my least favorite. It felt overwhelmed by mass tourism, with very few locals around, and the general attitude toward visitors was unwelcoming. The landscape wasn’t particularly special either. The only highlight was Caminito del Rey, which is beautiful but still heavily touristic and structured. Overall, not a place I’d recommend.

La Malagueta beach had all the necessary facilities, toilet, bars/shops, sunbeds and umbrellas. Sandy beach. The restaurants are also great in the city, our favorite restaurants were Los Marangos Molina Lario (Spanish) and Restaurante Gusto (Italian) and Picasso Bar Tapas (Spanish). For breakfast I really recommend Manolo Bakes in the port and Granier. The historical centre was also very beautiful, the whole city is green and full with palm trees. Interesting that the city is also full with wild green parrots.

Absolutely love Malaga it is so central to reach other destinations for day trips, loads of places to choose from. Ronda, Granada, Marbella to name a few. Something for everyone. It has everything you need for either a weekend or week long trip. Lots of shops, bars & restaurants. We had some really good tapas. Can’t wait to go back!

Malaga is a really good city overlooked by many holidaymakers who pass through its airport. There are so many things to see, the shopping is excellent and there’s a huge choice of bars and restaurants. Highlights include the castle, the Moorish alcazar, the cathedral, the Picasso gallery and the beaches

A lovely, spotlessly clean hotel in a perfect location for the Old Town of Malaga - restaurants, museums and shops. The seafont and promenade are only a short walk away. The rooftop terrace is a hidden gem. A bus stop to the promenade, bus and train stations, and the C1 train terminal linking the airport is only 50 metres away. Thank you to the lovely in house team for making our stay so enjoyable.

It was extremely clean and such a great location! 15 minute walk to the beach and 20 minute walk into the old town. Also right across from the train station which is just an 8 minute ride to the airport! Our host was so kind and had great communication. We loved it here and would definitely stay again next time we’re in Malaga.
