The history of the city is fascinating and at times dark. There are lots of places of significant history to visit. I would recommend getting a guided tour to know the history better as so as to not miss any of the sites. The East Side Gallery is something else. A lot of historical places to visit and also lots of museums not to miss. On top of this, even good for shopping. There are wonderful international restaurants. So, if you want a holiday with full of culture, good dining, shopping, Berlin is a good choice. You may need more than 1 week to make it a real value for your time and money. Good for families. Safe. Berlin is a beautiful mix of cultures and nationalities with a very laid back feel to it, dress up or dress down, you are always made welcome Getting around is so easy, there are so many stations, but get off two stops early and walk the rest of the way, you'll find hidden gems The Gainsborough is the place to go if you want a really good cocktail and Maurpark on a Sunday is not to be missed. Shame some leisure facilities were closed due to Covid. Getting around was easy trams buses stop outside the hotel. Berlin Hbf station walkable or tram, where you can get to anywhere in Germany. Also purchase the 9euro travel ticket app, it’s available through the summer months, travel all over Germany with this ticket.
