FAQs about hotels in Brussels

Chocolate Capital of Europe

Brussels is well-known as the headquarters of many European institutions and is often called the capital of Europe. However, Belgian waffles, beer and chocolate are just a few of the city’s best-known delicacies that can rival its political reputation.

French and Dutch are the city’s two official languages, so all streets and landmarks have two different names: don’t be surprised when you look for Grand Place and end up at Grote Markt!

Don’t miss the famous bronze, aptly named Manneken Pis statue or the futuristic Atomium, a truly unique architectural creation. Wandering through side streets to discover small bookshops, romantic cafés and ethnic restaurants reveals Brussels's charm.

Brussels is a real melting pot of Europe, filled with great museums and art from Memling, Bosch or Rubens, historic breweries and great concert halls. Shopping addicts can visit the world’s first shopping mall, the Saint Hubert Gallery, opened here in 1847.

If you’re arriving at Brussels Airport or South Charleroi Airport, all major attractions are just a short train or bus ride away. Whether you’re looking for a design hotel, a comfortable apartment or a friendly B&B, Booking.com has something perfect for your trip to Brussels.

A beautiful city with very kind people.

A beautiful city with very kind people. Sometimes the weather is not the shiniest, but the sights and the cuisine absolutely worth it. Don't miss the Mini-Europa next to the Atomium. Try their waffle, beer, fries and chocolate too. We made a trip to the Natural Sience and Fine Arts Museum, which I would gladly recommend to everyone.

I spent four nights in Brussels with my 19 year old son.

I spent four nights in Brussels with my 19 year old son. We came to see the Auto World Museum and it was definitely worth the trip. Right next door is the Military Museum. I had no idea what a great museum it was before we got there. We ended up spending two days at the museum. The quality and quantity of items on display was better than any other museum that I have been to. We spent hours and walked many miles in central Brussels. We dined at many great restaurants, and of course the waffles are delicious! Brussels was one of many stops on our trip, and it was one of the best.

The grand place was perhaps the best in the city of Brussels...

The grand place was perhaps the best in the city of Brussels to view apart from the European Parliament building. On a day trip from Brussels to Bruges and Ghent, we found too many tourists from the cruise liners flocking to the same small areas in Bruges with its clogged waterways with stagnant water. They are told to take photos at some bridges and parks and moved along pretty quickly. However, Ghent was really a much better place to tour with its towering church spires and huge bell in the famed bell tower. Fortunately, there weren't too many tourists in Ghent who obviously think Bruges is better. The canals had moving water and were a good sight. We also visited the justice palace in Brussels city atop a hill but the view was limited to seeing the building from outside. There definitely are other places worth visiting in Brussels city which we couldn't find time to visit weather being not too good as well.. But we didn't like the gardens much. There are plenty of trains between Brussels, Bruges and Ghent which in on the same route. Hence, taking a bus trip with a tour company would be a waste of ones money and if the weather is good both places can be visited by public transport in a day's time, starting early in the morning.

Brussels is absolutely incredible place to visit!

Brussels is absolutely incredible place to visit! It was my first time here and I immediately fell in love! People are very friendly and helpful and everyone seems happy even at work! The transport is not too expensive and easy to navigate. A lot of places are within a short walk. My favourite place was Grand Place I went there twice during different times of the day and it was magical especially at night! I really enjoyed atmosphere there. It was a surprising for me that even though it's a capital Brussels was very relaxing. It's not as big as some other European capitals but there was surprisingly a lot to do. I need to come back to see the rest.

Brussels is nice, always make sure you can reach the station where you are leaving bcs there is always strikes and road closures that prevented me from being able to leave by missing my train or bus back home. Chocolates, fries, and waffles are great! There are also some nice gardens.

Probably need 2 nights to see everything properly. Lots of historic buildings in the old quarter. Free tours are good although a 10 euro tip is the expected norm. But Ghent and Bruges are better in my opinion.

Small hotel for a reasonable price in Brussels. The location was perfect for my needs - walking distance from the Gare du Midi and to the place I needed to visit. The city center and old town also can be reached by foot. There is a refrigerator and a tea/ coffee in the room. Nice and kind staff.

The strong point about this hotel is it's location. Well connected and close to the city center. Another good thing is that it has some machines from where you can buy a drink or a snack. Good price for Brussels for a 3 starts hotel. However, what you pay is what you get...
