This hotel is in good location near the Kyoto train station. A few good eateries near it, but make reservations ahead of time or you will not get in. The breakfast buffet was good. It would be good if they could change up the dishes offered daily.

Kyoto was a wonderful place to visit. Although there were a lot of people everywhere we visited, it was still nice. When we went to Arashiyama, we did not realize the walking/climbing effort to get to the snow monkeys. Several of us had to return after only climbing about 25% of the way up. We had some older people in our group that could not walk that much.
We visited several of the temples and the bamboo forest was amazing!
We took a walking tour of Gion and was very insightful. Also had a tea ceremony with a Maiko which was not what I expected yet was very nice. Nishiki market was very interesting. We enjoyed the food market more than the rest of the market (clothes, electronics etc.). Felt more like a mall in the US. Lots of food to try.
Getting around Kyoto is easy using the subway. We did do a lot of walking.

Probably the place that you must visit when visiting Japan.
Probably the place that you must visit when visiting Japan. Apart from countless traditional temples you also have a great market and also vibrant "Geiko" district. The city is well conected to the airport and also to Nara, Uji, Osaka,... so it is also great for a one day trips.

A quiet and slow-paced city that is very easy to get around on foot, bicycle and public transport. Many beautiful old buildings, streets, temples like the Kinkakuji Temple. Although the narrow streets around the Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Gion can be slow to walk due to the crowds as was Fishimi Inari Taisha. I was lucky to see a few Geishas in Gion area in the evenings. Lovely and tranquil forest and bamboo walks early in the morning and cherry blossoms.

Really lovely area, wish we stayed longer.
Really lovely area, wish we stayed longer. The prices seem to be a bit more pricy than what we were used to in Tokyo but very worth! Unfortunately found that many shops and restaurants close quite early.

Kyoto is an amazing city and a must see. So much history and beauty. Quieter than Tokyo but still busy. Loved it. Most everything is walkable except for some of the temples and gardens but public transportation is easy.

We really liked our stay at Kinparo.
The staff was very friendly (even if not all of them speak English very well, they did their best to meet your needs).
Every evening the futons were made ready for us. First time for us sleeping in a Ryokan and we found it more comfortable than we thought!
Overall, it was a very special experience.
The location of the hotel is great, literally two steps from the market. Also, walking distance from the station and pretty much from all sites in Gion.
The location is the best. You can easily go to enywhere in Kyoto by taking the subway close to the hotel and just 2 stops from Kyoto station.
You can walk to Kamo river to take a deep breath and walk a little bit to gion area. No worry about the food, there're a ton of groceries and restaurants around the hotel and the Nishiki market is just 3 minutes walking from the hotel. The staffs are so great, they are helpful. I felt so comfortable here and need to stay 10 days more.
The location of the room is very good close to kyoto station walking distance 10 min..close to bus stop Lawson is just 1 min walk from the hotel..and best part was the biggest monastery in Japan is right in front you can see the view of the monastery and feel the good vibes from the hotel..this hotel is definitely value for money
Awesome location near train station, convenient stores next door, laundromat about a 5min walk, big rooms for Japan, bed was a bit hard and the pillows weren’t great but it was probably the best hotel we stayed in so far! Would stay there again
Brilliant stay. The best hostel we have ever been to. It felt like a 5 star hotel. Communal kitchen was very clean and well stocked. The whole hotel was very well designed.
